Upcoming Event: Santa Fe Indian Market
August 19th & 20th | Santa Fe Plaza
Coming up in just a few days, the 96th Annual Santa Fe Indian Market will open for this year. It will be held on August 19th and 20th with plenty of art and plenty of fun available.
The market started back in 1922 and has attracted more than 150,000 visitors every year from all over the world. It hosts about 90 artists from more than 200 tribes across the United States and Canada. meet the Native artists and learn all about the art and culture at this incredible event.
Schedule of Events
While the event doesn’t technically start until Saturday, August 19th with the Santa Fe Indian Market on the Plaza, many events happen before the weekend. The schedule includes:

• “IM:Edge” Opening Reception – August 17th
• Best of Show Ceremony and Luncheon – August 18th
• Sneak Preview of Award-Winning Art – August 18th
• General Preview of Award-Winding Art – August 18th
• 96th Annual Santa Fe Indian Market on the Plaza – August 19th and 20th
• IM: Edge Contemporary Show – August 19th
• Native Traders’ Market – August 19th and 20th
• Market Stages Music and Dance Performances – August 19th and 20th
• Indian Market Haute Couture Fashion Show – August 19th
• Live Auction and Gala – August 19th
• Native Cinema Showcase Family Night: “Moana” – August 19th
• Native American Clothing Contest – August 20th
• With so many events, there’s plenty for everybody to enjoy.
Tickets
Many of the events do require tickets, but most of the main events are open to the public free of charge. The Indian Market on the Plaza is open to the public, along with many of the performances. However, tickets are necessary for many of the events before the weekend and for the Live Auction and Gala. Some of the events are already sold out!
If you can’t make it to this great event in Santa Fe or you just want more of the Indian art, Winter Indian Market will be held on December 16th and 17th during the holiday season. It won’t be as large, but it will still provide many vendors ready to help you choose the right gifts for those people on your list that enjoy Native American art.
