Upcoming Event: Herb & Lavender Festival
June 17th & 18th | El Rancho de las Golondrinas
An exciting festival is coming up in our very own Santa Fe, and it’s going to be perfect for the whole family. It’s going on over Father’s Day weekend this year, giving dad’s and their families the perfect place to hang out that weekend. You’ll be able to get some great gifts like soaps, lotions, and art, while finding new goodies for your home like beautiful plants and essential oils. For families that love a good farmer’s market, the Herb & Lavender Festival brings a whole new variety of goodies to enjoy.
What to expect
The festival is taking place on Saturday June 17th and Sunday June 18th starting at 10am until 4pm. You can get in for just $8 per adult, with discounts available for teenagers and seniors, and no charge for children. You’ll find over 20 vendors offering their goods at the marketplace throughout the weekend.
It’s going to take place at El Rancho de las Golondrinas over at 334 Los Pinos Road. The event is being put together by volunteers, participants, and sponsors, while having partial funding by the City of Santa Fe Arts Commission and the 1% Loders Tax. You’ll notice sponsors include The Santa Fe New Mexican, New Mexico Bank and Trust, and more.
Schedule of events
The festival is going to have plenty of herbs and lavender plants with photo ops that will bring some natural beauty to your social media page. Starting at 11am you’ll be able to stop into The Paloheimo Education Center for lectures and talks about planting, growing, and caring for your lavender plants. At 12:30pm you’ll learn about the history and chemistry behind soap. Then at 2pm, you’ll learn about fragrance extraction from high-desert plants. The kids will get to enjoy activities like sewing sachets of dried herbs and creating a Raffia Braid from lavender.
Enjoy Lavender Cookies and café food from Two Sprout Farm while stocking up on goodies including essentials oils, soaps, art, plants, food, and more. Look for vendors like Organic Living Room, Purple Adobe Lavender Farm, Good Morning Goat Milk Soap, Adriana Duncan, Ye ole Kitchen Witch, and so much more. The marketplace surely won’t disappoint and you can even shop from The Swallows Nest museum shop afterwards.
